First time M5 owner

I just bought a 2013 M5, it has 9200 miles on it and I already ran into the issue of the idle fluctuating when it was about a quarter tank left. Is this a common issue? It also came up with a drive train malfunction, is this also common? Both these issues seemed to be fixed once I filled the car up What are the fixes for these issues? Also what other issues should I be expecting?

I would take it to the dealer to see if they can replicate the fault message, or see what caused the fault code. Could be a glitch, but last thing you want is a shut down message when your out driving and have to be towed. The 2013 was the launch year, and had some glitches .......I had a 2013 which I got at launch that was solid minus a few error message that were in fact just errors so no big deal. (Sold the car at 16k miles in 2015 just to heavy of a car, but was solid for the ownership time). Good luck, and enjoy.

Drivetrain Malfunction is a "catch all" code. Mine was a hose leaking.

Thank you guys for this piece of advice, taking it in on Friday hopefully it isn't a big deal. I was reading a mother thread that states I would just need the software to be updated??
