Vtt bolt capture worth doing on its own??

Debating- a shop here will charge me around 400 to get it in and I only plan as of now to get a stage 1 tune going... should I just wait until I have enough to do the entire solution or is this going to give me piece of min

I recognize it’s a small sample size but has anyone spun with a stage 1 or stage 2 tune with this on?

I paid an additional €150 for my CBC install while my tech was installing down pipes and charge pipes..

No, VTT recommends both SplineLock and Crank Bolt Capture.

You will get a dozen answers. Some say it's not needed at all, happens too infrequently. Some say you need it with a tune or not as it's happened to stock cars, some will say the capture alone will do the trick, and others think you need the spline lock too. I'd say if $400 allows you to drive your car harder and without having to worry then it's worth it. I'd do it personally for that price, yes it can still spin without the spline lock but from what I understand most of the damage is done when the bolt backs out which the CBC will prevent. If it does still spin with the CBC then at least it's a much cheaper repair than bolt backing out.

Do it, i installed it by myself, a little time consuming, but, it gave me a little peace of mind. It's not the whole solution but, for me, it was good installing it.

your money....your choice....i did the $400 Capture and i am running full E85 Custom Tuned pushing about 560- 580HP
A New S55 motor is only $8500, so why pay $4000 for something that may or may not happen....
