charge pipe removal for engine troubleshoot

Can the charge pipes be left off of the engine when running. Trying to troubleshoot some misfires on cylinder #5 after changing to NGK spark plugs. Its a pain putting them on and taking them off.

150502 Ignition, Cylinder 5, burning time is too short
140510 misfires, Cylinder 5
140501 misfires, Cylinder 5, injection is switched off

Thanks,

DP

try to start it and found out? Don't think anything bad would happen minus it not running right. Not sure how much that would help your troubleshooting. if last thing you did is plugs then could be something related to that or through the install.

the MAP or is it MAF sensor is on the intake side too, so without any flow there not sure how the ECU would react though.

It should run, I drove home fine when my silicone one popped off because I forgot to tighten the clamp. Be VERY careful not to drop anything into one of the turbos though.

Glad to hear. Out of curiosity, what was the issue and how did you fix it?

# 5 plug was loose and not torqued to spec.

The OP literally answered this question one post above yours.
