Usual IAT increase during a pull?
Hey guys.
What is the usual IAT increase during a pull? During a WOT 3-4 pull, i saw my IAT increase from about 92-107. Is that 15 degrees normal? Ambient temps were about 72 and i beat on the car before hand. Is a 20 degree delta normal? Mods: BM3 stage 1 93 BM3 GTS DCT flash AA catless downpipes AFE Magnum intake with heatshield and AFE PRO DRY s filters.

Hey thanks! Sorry to bother you, but i know you're a very prominent tuner! Had another question to ask you.
I just added that intake to my car (picture is the unit installed on my actual car). Car sounds fantastic, but i noticed my ignition timing was off. Plugs are new. PTF said it seems like bad gas. I got this batch of gas the same day as i installed the intake. Car doesn't seem "as fast." I know intakes are not the best thing to install on the car for power, but i really love the sound (sound is half the fun, right?) Considering these are enclosed when hood is shut, could they really be making the car less "quick" or is it really the gas? I was told to add a gallon of e85, which i did. The car doesn't seem as snappy. I also noticed it doesn't burble/ bang really hard when i downshift from 3rd to 2nd as much after i installed the intake/added some e85 to this bad batch of gas. What could it be? The intake or really the gas? I'd like to reflash once this crappy tank is done. Just trying to figure out what is going on!

The gallon of E85 was to get your timing back from whacky to acceptable. Run out that bad gas and try again with tested E. I use a little $5 gasohol tester vial from Azon before anything goes in my tank, since I learned the hard way (filled my tank and two drop-tanks, and home it tested sh!tty 70%).
Here's another example of IAT rising from 88 to 102F over a 3-4-5 rip. You're 20deg rise is normal for a warm area, and under hood intake. |

Do you have any datalogs showing the difference after you put on the intakes?

If it doesn't solve the issue, i might just take them off. Here are links to 4 crappy datalogs from my other thread https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fe4...729b3fe468e69f https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fe4...0b431a1b66a5e0 https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fe4...90c67c6b366054 https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fe4...0b431a1b66a5df
