its such a big car. When you see them on the road they def have a presence. As big as it is that thing still moves. And obv the tech and interior are legit

Funny part where the 3 EVs enter the Autobahn at full throttle and the Tesla gets trapped in the right lane.. 😂 Those Americans and their lane dicipline...

Looks like the A57 just on the other side of the border… probably one of the worst stretches I’ve ever driven. The pavement is complete crap.

Other than having the best BMW available, I don’t really get the M70. I have the i7 and despite having sport brakes, this is like stopping a bus it’s so heavy. 6000 pounds and 17.66 feet long is not for canyon carving nor is it a sports car in any shape or form. Don’t get me wrong I love my car in almost every way but to spend another 50-60k to shave off a second on this big a luxury car seems weird. Most reviews say the i7 is plenty unless you have FU money. Very little to differentiate the 2 cars physically and even dynamically. Same thing goes for the plaid by the way. So much power you’ll never use except when a new friend is in the car for the first time but the plaid is not 180k. Without ceramic brakes these cars are plows.

about usage (full power/boost): i tend to use it when taking over, entering motorways or just when i feel like it (speed limit lift from 80 km/h to 120 km/h, avoiding congestion situations where "fleeing" is a valid option and make my wife squeak...). and for all other i use the efficient mode, like always... about canyon carving: we have severeal roundabouts here, it's like a plague. on several rural roads there are some in 80 km/h and 60km/h zones - i tend to try to pass them as smooth and fast as possible, after approx. 10'000km im starting to understand and feel (from what is possible...) the car. for me this is the most difficult car to feel that i have ever driven! btw: there are actually 12 M70 on swiss roads according to BMW |

Wow the delta is much smaller there but here if you take into consideration how few M70’s there are and the deals that can be had on the abundant i7 60’s there are new AND used, the delta is huge. I deliberated for long time during Covid over a used S63 or a new body style S580. The difference was big. Noise was glorious, gear shifts and paddle shifts were way more fun, handling and steering were on another level, and it looked way more aggressive than a regular S despite being a model older. I opted for the i7 because the tech, luxury ride and build I found were so much better. At least from the new S and certainly the 2021 S63 felt really old compared to the i7 spaceship. And most importantly had to ask myself how often will I drive this massive S63 hard? Not often.
Having said all that, I’m still a little jealous of your M70 cause you have something super rare and like my car, just turned up to 11! Just wish they’d have made it stand out more in a few more ways compared to regular i7 60. Someone commenting on why I didn’t just get the 50 then in 3..2..1! Haha. Law of diminishing returns for me on that one. I feel that the 60 is the sweet spot and I’m Goldilocks. |

being originally a mercedes driver guy, yes, the difference between standard and AMG is much bigger than compared to M and not M (excluding the motor power in this comparison).
while mercedes S goes more sporty and aggressive with AMG, the BMW 7 M cars are getting more balanced and luxurious. this is kind of weird... as i use the 7 for work and travel around a lot, i wanted the softer, more luxurious one - but still with punch and some stiffness. but it's still a boat - and i LOVE it yes, the 60 is the reasonable model! |
