Other Fee's
I asked this question before and couldn't get an answer.
After the deal is finished with the numbers, besides tax what else is added? License transfer=how much? Title=how much, DOC fee=how much. So basically after the new car and trade-in values and tax are added, how much more total $$$ to expect? My Civic Si was $165 total after trade and tax. :iono: |

Depends what state your in for the tax, but here in PA you can figure 7% after the trade. ie. 10,000 trade / 40,000 for the car - $30,000 x 7% = total cost

Title, license, DOC, etc. Example. 135i $40,000 Trade -$14,000 =$26,000 Tax +$1,690 Total =$27,690 Now what else? License, Title, Doc fee, etc. I read about 1 person who said BMW charged him a $399 BMW Doc fee. When bought my Civic Si the License, Title, Doc fee was $165.00 |

The Doc fee varies from dealer to dealer... Good luck getting out of paying that!

Thanks sir. I really hate the idea of sitting down in a BMW dealer. I have traded and owned many diff brand cars and trucks and didn't mind the sales bull, but I feel like a skum bag going into a BMW dealer. First they will offer me crap for my trade, ask MSRP for the for their car, and possibly add some BMW charge. I guess even RICH people haggle with price.
When I was checking out the 335i coupe last year I drove up in an 07 Acura TL-S, now when I drive up in a Civic, WOW, they think I am some poor skum bag. I just DRED doing the deal when I order one. |

My dealer charged me $399 for "Fee for processing title, registration and tags, and consumer services." The $399 fee is pre-printed on the order form, and there was also a sign on the wall stating that all customers are required to pay this fee.
Bastards.

Interesting, that "admin fee" exists in Canada as well. At one dealer it was 395 and at another it was 399... but that's canadian dollars.
One SA once told me that it covers a loaner car for when you need it.

HMMM. I thought a loaner car was included while under warranty. From what I have read about BMW's the $399 for a loaner when ever its needed will probably pay for its self in the first year. Maybe it should be $3,999.00

fwiw, I negotiated 1500 over invoice and that included the "doc fee". From what I've learned it's profit for the dealer - its like charging for prepping the car from the VPC, except there is probably a policy against that otherwise they'd charge $400 for that and spend 30 minutes prepping the car.
I was confused on this at first also. |
