Ego Blower

do not buy an Ego blower. 300 dollar blower is worse than the 30 dollar one from Walmart. its too heavy and shuts off after 5 min of use. returned it to Lowes and customer service said it was one of their most returned products. the walmart one is 10+ years old but super light, more powerful (I think Ego volume/airspeed and cubic ft/sec are not as claimed), but the Walmart one has a cord.

for car drying purposes get a very light blower, makes it much easier to use especially for roof and higher spots on the car. the Ego battery alone was 10lbs and the entire Walmart corded blower is less than 5lbs.

Buy Ego, I had mine for at least 3 yrs with a stubbly end. Great for car drying, boat drying, etc... I even bought the weed whacker and will never go back.

Yeah my EGO 765 is the best blower I’ve ever owned. No issues with it shutting off / battery life / weight.

if you google or search youtube theres many many with experiences like mine. also plenty of reviews showing they dont meet their airflow/speed specs. regardless of the fact it doesnt work, a 10lb battery sucks.

Why do we need to Google anything? Our great working product is all the review we need.

I think you simply got a defective one.

I’ve only had great experiences with Ego products and battery life. I’ve got 2 blowers, hedge trimmers, weed whacker and power shovel from them with very decent battery life. I’ll agree the batteries are heavy, especially when you use it in the shovel though.

For car drying, this Adam’s Air Cannon can’t be beat!

Love my Ego blower, but the batteries are heavy. That Adams blower is intriguing, but I can't lug that around the back patio and driveway to clear debris.

My ego is great. I made sure to get a lower power one (670 iirc) with the smallest battery so that it's more quiet and lighter. Lasts plenty long to dry my car off or do garden/blowing too.

I've had my Ego 765cfm blower for a while now. Works PERFECTLY.

Yes, it did shut off due to overheating a couple of times, but not because it was broken. I was using it to blow dry my cars for 10 minutes straight, in 102-degree weather under direct sunlight.

Also... at $199 for the 765cfm(with a single 5A battery), it was a very reasonable price.

I suspect one of the reasons that it's frequently returned at Lowe's is because a LOT of people were doing the blower or battery hack deals.(which Lowe's has apparently stopped allowing recently)

Love my EGO 765 as well. I can almost finish the car with my 2Ah battery, but sometimes need to drop the 5Ah in. It weighs 5lbs, which I try to avoid because yes it gets heavy. I don't know that EGO has a 10lbs battery - maybe for a lawnmower?

You reminded me that in addition to two EGO blowers, one EGO hedge trimmer, one EGO string trimmer and one EGO power shovel, I also have an EGO push LAWN MOWER!

All without issues, otherwise I’d brand switch in a heartbeat.

Good to know.
Not sure why everyone else is so uptight about needing their Ego's blown.

Either way, I've had my DeWalt 7.6 lbs leaf blower for 3+ years. Still going strong for yard work and drying cars after washing.

YMMV,

Using the Ego 765 with the aftermarket stubby for about 1 1/2 years. Works great and not heavy for me. It came with the 5ah and 2.5ah battery.

My X5 is ceramic coated with Adam’s Polishes and no problems whatsoever. Really blows the water off; this leaf blower is powerful.

Tip, use a skinny Velcro band to hold down (wrap) the turbo button and use the bottom handles to hold the Ego. Best way to handle this 10lb machine and you don’t need to hold down the button to operate.

this is what I use, works great on my motorcycle too, and it's much easier to use than my Ryobi Leaf Blower

I purchased this Cshid brand 20v leaf blower at Walmart a while back when it was on sale for about $50 and it came with 2 batteries. Using it at the full power speed a charge lasts about 30 minutes which is more than enough time to dry off my car. It takes about 2 hours for a battery to be fully charged. I am please with the results so far and feel that I got a really good bang for the buck!

I have the newer EGO 880, with the stubby it's so loud whistling you need some kid of hearing protection. Haven't had any issues yet.

issue I had with my 765 was a bad battery, would constantly shut off. New battery is all that was needed.

I leave one in the trunk of my cars to dry them off when I go through touchless washes.

I have the ego 765 and stubby nozzle. Works great for drying the car, and not very heavy at all. Big fan of it.

I have the ego with the stubby nozzle and have owned it for more than five years. I did need a new battery and decided to buy the off brand one for 1/3 the price and has worked great.
