OT: Apostrophes in Firefox and 1Addicts

Hi guys,

This is seriously off-topic, but I figured I'd share this with my fellow Aussies...

If you're using Firefox and get pissed off when entering a post on 1Addicts and find that using an apostrophe switches you to "Find" mode, go here:

Haha, there you go - I'm glad it helped one other person! It just to me tonight and I had to resolve it. There seemed like a few ways to do it, but that one worked for me.

interesting. didn't have that problem but then i'm using a French AZERTY keyboard so I have a whole other world of problems to contend with ....

i'm curious what most of us use here? firefox, ie, chrome, safari or other?

Professor, I (obviously) use Firefox, but I did like Chrome. I stopped using it because I'd forgotten how many Internet adverts Firefox was blocking. When Chrome has this feature, I'll likely switch. It was a lot faster.

I'm using chrome... a bit buggy (ie when opening threads in new tabs from this site) but it's quick, clean and simple.

I did not even know that function exists.... How come when I enter ' to this box it does not happen but if I don't select the text box it does???

'Cos it's meant to be a shortcut to the search function. Something about a problem with some chat boards where if the current focus isn't a text box, it doesn't see it as you wanting to type a ' and goes to search. Don't know more than that except it used to often cause me grief and I ain't in grief any more!
