Am I victim to another chopped PPF job?
First time getting any PPF done to a car. So I don’t know if it’s just me or if this actually a bad job?
Sorry for the poor photo quality it’s night and I’m in the garage Cost: $5500 Car: g87 m2 When I picked up from the shop was told it needed some heat to correct any bubbling issues or corners. They said to schedule a follow up in a week. However upon further inspection I don’t see how heat could correct some parts. Is it normal to have such big gaps exposing paint? Is it normal for the PPF to be overlapping and have just lines across where PPF is overlapping on parts of the front bumper? |

Hey come on. It was my first time working with that stuff. It was kind of hard to work with. We also never had a BMW in the shop before.

You get what you pay for.
Choosing the lowest price usually doesn't end well. |

I agree.
Demand a refund! If you paid by CC, place a dispute.

WAY too many relief cuts which is a sign the installer is a beginner.
I also noticed this looks like a precut kit they used. If they did not use a precut kit and this is how it turned out I would be worried letting them trim anything for fear they might cut your paint if that did not happen already. The pieces seemed to either be cut too long or too short when wrapping the edges. My latest M3 got a full PPF but my last 5 cars had the front clip only. They really need to clean this up for you and possibly redo a section or two if its not cured on the edges and held down with adhesive. Get a torch and fix the edges yourself...slight heat then wrap around and make sure there are no bubbles or folds. That work needs trimmed but again I would be careful letting that shop make those adjustments. A fix could make it worse if not done properly. |

Yea 5.5k isn’t cheap at all. That’s why it’s always good to pay with a credit card. Good luck bro you definitely deserved better.

I assume the OP wants honest opinions?
That PPF job looked like it was done by high school kids doing PPF on their Civic beater. I would not pay a cent to that installer. Or if I had to pay up front, time to file a dispute with the credit card company. If that doesn't work, go to the local small claims court. Bring lots of close-up photos. Just out of curiosity, does the shop have decent number of good reviews on Google or elsewhere? |
