BMW G70 Service Bulletin List

Here you will find all of the service bulletins BMW has submitted to NHTSA for the i7 and 7 series (G70). Bulletins usually take several weeks to appear in the NHTSA database after they are published internally in BMWTIS.

This thread will be updated with recent bulletins after they land at NHTSA and a reference is published here: https://itsanalogue.github.io/bmw-tsb/G70.html. You can find all of this information on the NHTSA website if you know where to look, but this is a consolidated list and should help search engines find and index the SIB PDFs faster.

BMW AG has decided on a service campaign for certain vehicles from the G0x, G12 and G20 series. Please have the starter motor checked and, if necessary, replaced in the vehicles concerned (according to the vehicle identification number selection) if possible before vehicle delivery. If vehicles have already been delivered, please have the measure carried out the next time the vehicles enter the workshop. A bolting fault on the long bolt screws can cause the magnets in the starter motor to twist. As a result, the power of the starter motor decreases. As a result, the engine does not start.

There may be a restriction in the low-pressure fuel line at the tank flange for the in-tank delivery pump (lowpressure pump). As a result, the required fuel flow volume is not available. If there is an insufficient supply offuel (even if only for a very brief period), the high-pressure pump might suffer preliminary damage. Inaddition, in the event of a fault, there might be a power reduction or “jerking” motions while driving.

Small debris may accumulate inside the volume control thumbwheel of the iDrive Controller. Existing gaps between the glass application and the light guide could allow external debris to enter inside the volume thumbwheel under normal usage. This debris can be seen through the crystal volume thumbwheel, giving the appearance of a cosmetic defect with the thumbwheel itself. Active lighting makes this debris more visible when illuminated. This could make the false illusion of a cosmetically defective volume thumbwheel more visible (many small dark spots or streaks).
