Hey! What's wrong with pet rocks? I love em. They don't eat much and keep quiet.
I second the vacuum vs. Blowing the dirt around.

Really handy tool to have. I’ve got The Rag Company Blaster V2, and it came with a swivel fitting for the hose. Works great for hitting those tough spots like the HUD screen, vents, and the B-pillar areas where a vacuum can’t reach.

Only issue is it eats up my 26-gallon compressor tank super quick, and I can’t stand the noise of the compressor running. Because of that, I hardly ever use it when I wash the car. Engine bay stays pretty clean anyway, so I can use it blowing off dust. For carpets, not really worth it—maybe once a year if I pull the mats out. Not a substitute for a vacuum.

+1 for vacuum. My experience with trucks, using air tends to just make it air born. You need a lot of air and then only some goes out the door with the rest just going elsewhere around the cabin.

For quick general with all doors open and shoot from one side dancing from front to rear..maybe.

To clean carpets etc no way.

Either way you will still be wiping every thing over.

Good tool to have in the arsenal. Makes quick work of cleaning crevices that you can't wipe down. And for the uninformed, the idea is to move the dirt out of the corners/crevices and out into the open where it can be vacuumed or otherwise removed easily.

I'm liking this for my "real truck", the vents get very dusty, plus lots of boxer dog hair

Interior cleaning has always been a mix of vacuuming and compressed air. Welcome to 5 decades ago.

fair enough, I do tend to see it as just a car for most part. Something a company makes to sell for profit. Its works or it doesn't.

The air blaster is not the same as using brushes. I guess you are misinformed.

I purchased a similar one a while back ("Super Power Turbo Fan", lol) and it's actually pretty amazingly strong. Great for getting between crevices when drying the car after a wash – much easier than using a full-size leaf blower.

I also bought a little portable vacuum (this one) which is also surprisingly good. So much easier than hauling out the shop vac when I want to just do a quick vacuum of the car.

Probably good for a professional detailer that sees all sorts of nasty vehicles.

Luckily my vehicles have never been that dirty.

For deep cleaning carpets, if needed, I just use my Bissell SpotClean.

I use cordless Dyson vacuum for all those occasions, no issues.
Then again, my car is never filthy enough to require excessive chiseling and blowing of debris out of the interior.

If I was in pro detailing business, the above answer might be different. But for personal use, the only place an air Blow Gun might come in handy is for cleaning keyboards. Even then, what's being discussed is a massive overkill.

However, I have bought numerous "nice to have" tools over the years that are taking up space in my tool cabinets and shelves. Way WAY too many brushes, shampoos and cleaners for detailing as well. This could be another one of those.

a

P.S.: For keyboard and iDrive (if necessary) cleaning, a $2.99 can of compressed air does wonders and lasts for years!

WTF would i use it on anything but carpet?

And why would I need to use this on my dash or controls?

You’d need one nasty vehicle to reqiure this tool.
