I had the 750e because it was the only ICE powered variant in my region. My honest opinion? It's not smooth at all. Either go full electric or full ICE, the switch while driving between electric and internal combustion isn't smooth at all, worse than it was on the 745Le that I had previously. The Mercedes S580e is smooth though if you want a hybrid limo.

I have owned a 2025 750e for 3 months. I have driven 3000 miles with a recent 1000 mile round trip that covered highway and curvy mountain roads and dips. I find it very smooth and plenty powerful for my needs. I do not notice a change from electric to gas. My son recently commented that he prefers this car because as a passenger it is so smooth.
I took it pretty easy the first 2000 miles and switched between various drive modes to break the car in. It has 21” wheels with Bridgestone tires and July software. I came out of X5 M60i and owned multiple 5 and 7 Series. Also have driven family members 6 series an 8 series. I didn’t enjoy driving the 8 due to the suspension/ felt a lot of road bumps. Probably best to drive one yourself and give it an extensive test drive if you can. |

The M850 is quicker than the 750e.
I would take all 7 series models for a spin to see which model best fits your needs. Last edited by Wolfman64; 10-29-2025 at 05:31 AM.. |

If you're looking for something to commute in, it will be hard to beat the 750e. but if you're looking for something fun to drive for shorter commutes it may not be the best option. Coincidentally, my M5 touring showed up today at the dealer but I passed on it and opted for an allocation on another touring next year. Hope this was helpful. |

Not sure what others are experiencing with the 750e, but mine is so smooth I really can't tell when it switches over to ICE mode. Most of the time i have to engage the screen that shows you whether the car is in EV or ICE mode. You should do an extended test drive with the 750e. I took one for about 30 mins on the streets and the freeway before I decided to get it. All the best. |
