Spotify Volume Fluctuations
Hey there,
I took delivery of my 2025 i7 eDrive50 about two weeks ago and finally had the chance to get it blessed at the Hindu temple after it had been sitting idle. After that, I went for a proper drive and noticed something odd...the volume kept fluctuating from high to low, almost as if someone was adjusting the knob (ghost included 😄). Whenever it dropped, I’d say, “Hey Siri, turn off voice control,” and it would respond that voice control was already off. Right after that, the volume would return to normal. I had to repeat this multiple times during the drive. Any idea what might be causing this? |

I have no great info to depart other than I own the same eDrive50 and also have Spotify. But at 68 I'd never heard of a blessing at a Hindu temple so looked up the "saying." Gemini educated me, informing me it was a real thing. Interesting! I must have had a partial blessing because I understand that crushing lemons under the tires is part of it and coincidentally I own a huge lemon tree so I tend to "crush out bad luck" every few weeks or so in my driveway.
Ironically, I never had volume problems with Spotify (I've had my G70 since Nov '23). However -- and certainly due to the CarPlay component -- when I come inside, my iPhone's volume is turned so far down I don't hear call ringing or text notifications until I remember to turn Sound/Haptics back up. Perhaps this is related to your problem or gremlins, who knows? Otherwise, congratulations on your new i7!! |

Found the cure via BMW Genius. I removed the Apple Music app and that seems to have been the issue. As soon as I reinstalled it, all low volume issues were remediated.
Go figure!? |
