Sucks man. My 335 was only about 6 months old when I hit a regulation manhole, not even a pothole. Going less than 10 over and thump - TPMS went crazy. RFTs I'm assuming?

I've replaced 3 tires, and bent 3 rims. Its seriously time to consider some non RFT tires. Living outside of the city limits might help too.

stock Dunlop Sp RFT's on my 1. My fiancee bent both front 335 rims on a pothole in NJ. But at least his was about to go back. sucks that yours was only 6 months old.

I've bent all 4 wheels and killed 3 tires on potholes in NYC...one of those tires being a non-rft. It seriously sucks

I went through 5 tires and rims on my 330 in two years. As soon as I got my 135 I changed those damn RFTs for a set of Yoko SDrives. So far I've only split a tire on a metal plate that would have killed any RFT. Haven't had to replace any rims yet on the 1. <knocks profusely on wood>

I lost one tire (non RFT) and the wheel bent and cracked terribly. One of the reasons I would like to go back to 17's.

Where was the pothole so we can avoid it. Not that it is by any stretch of the imagination the only one.

Are you sure the wheel is destroyed? You may be able to get it straightened out Meg.

Just found out the tire and rim insurance won't cover the rim, only the tire. I thought if they would cover the rim, I might as well get a new one. I know the guy that straightens the rims for the dealership and he will staighten the rim out for $100 instead of the 200 something the dealership charges. But the insurance won't cover straightening the rim so that is gonna come out of pocket.

The pothole I hit was on Ocean Terrace off of Todt Hill on staten island. There's also a HUGE one on Richmond Ave in the right lane after Victory Blvd. (going towards the mall)

Which insurance wouldn't cover it? BMW tire/wheel insurance, or SafeGuard??

Make a claim with the city. If it's not filled withinn 24 hours, they have to reimburse you
