BMW got me a "romantic weekend" as 1M present
Unexpectedly received a package today from BMW, congratulating me with my 1M purchase and wishing me lots of motoring pleasure.
Was also included: - some sort of BMW club brochure; - a BMW Mobility Card for road assistance till Autumn 2016 (stating "M1 Cou" as car model); - a voucher valid till Spring 2013 for a "romantic weekend for two" in a hotel of choice in Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France or Germany (50 hotels) consisting of a one night stay, breakfast and dinner of 3 to 5 courses (a real voucher, not that ridiculous lottery stuff where you "could" win something if you call or SMS to no avail some expensive phone number). To my wife: "Ain't that a sweet fringe benefit? You see, the 1M is a true family car!" Her tongue-in-cheek reply: "There's no such thing as a free lunch. You paid for it." |

there may not be such a thing as a free lunch.. but it sounds like there IS such a thing as a free vacation getaway. I am not sure how she could say that is " paid for" ... unless it were to be offered with EVERY new vehicle purchase.. which I am sure it is not.
that's some serious time on that voucher.. 2013.. very nice. |

I did spend at Dorint Nűrburgring with a Bongo voucher that........my wife received lol.
Amazing to see the VLN race from your balcony and check the race positions and times on the TV channels at the same time, great memory. How sweet it is to have a rock'n'roll wife :-)) Have fun with your romantic WE and don't be too heavy with the gas pedal so it won't be romantic at all...... ;-)

BMW Belux. What did you and gs/e60/1M receive? My 1M is max loaded and is my third consecutive full option ///M car. Not unlikely that my future car will be another ///M. Maybe BMW Belux threw in some extras for that reason?
At delivery I already received from my dealership a set of car care detailing products and an ///M keyring (pictured below) + they also got me my front license plate. Also in the past they always took good care of me and my cars, which I appreciate of course. That's why this gift from BMW Belux arrived unexpectedly. Needless to say that my wife and I are pleased and grateful regarding this fine client care gesture of BMW. |

I've also received nothing yet from BMW Belux! Bought my first BMW in 2009 (135i) and now my 1M and a Cooper S for my wife, and a X1 for my stepfather in 2011! So, a little present would be nice!!;-)

Follow up on the story of the surprise gift BMW Belux (Belgium/Luxemburg) kindly offered me last November because of my VO 1M.
The past weekend my wife, daughter and I enjoyed a very fine stay at "Hotel Jagdhaus Wiese" in Schmallenberg (Sauerland region in Germany), a hotel worth all of its four stars. Rain and snow spiced (instead of spiked) our tea. On the way back we stopped by in Köln. Fringe benefit of the journey: the parts of the Autobahn without speed limit. BMW, if you're reading this: thank you! A room with a view: VO 1M with a touch of natural Alpine White: On the brink of leaving after checking out: Through the forests heading for Köln: Köln stop before heading home: |

Great photos Artemis - you really are the 1M family man. Good to see BMW look after their best customers. Maybe I'll get a weekend when I make 3 ///M cars.

haha looks amazing. I don't quite understand the second to last photo. Did you have a bit of snow fun with the 1M?

Here's a picture from a different angle of the modern art statue featuring in the penultimate picture shot outside the Museum Ludwig in Köln. It's called "Tagedieb" and was made in 2010 by an artist called Cosima von Bonin ("a long-nosed - and hence obviously dishonest - Pinocchio sitting on a towering umpire's chair, acting as both sculpture and streetlight"). Daft stuff. |

My brother has an E60 M5 (alike you, gs/e60/1M). In the past BMW invited him to testdrive a new M car somewhere in Germany, which he did. Latest invitation was a (payable) BMW organized weekend package for a small testgroup in - if I'm not wrong - Spain (F10 M5 testdrive?), but he could not make it for that weekend trip. |

@ Artemis
i'll re-read the letter, i admit that at the time i received it, I just took a glance at it and stow it away somehere. But no questionnary as such, i would remember such thing. Yes I talked to a guy with a new ///M3 conv matte black who subscribed for that W.E. in Spain and I even saw some pics....... but forgot where. Must be fun if you're "in" for such events. |

If this was the event, then bro' apparently missed out on something sweet... |

I did receive the ///M keyring and a front license plate too (on delivery), just like Artemis. But no cleaning tools/products here, they must have known I'm more like a carwash type of guy |
